The vision of the Counseling Ministry at Rising Star is to have emotionally strong members and community members, who honor God and model Christian love. Our mission is to redemptively provide biblical counsel, Christian care and effective resources for individuals seeking assistance for themselves or others, that individuals may be transformed by the renewing of their minds.

There are three essential goals that shape the Counseling Ministry:

• People need support, encouragement and guidance while journeying through life: Pain, discouragement and confusion are common to the human experience, prompting requests for assistance in our spiritual journey from time to time – provide counseling support.

• The triune God is the cure giver: Ultimate healing is found in and through a relationship with Jesus Christ. God is the source of all healing – lead people to Christ.

• We, the Church, are the caregivers: God's people are the human resources called to love one another and bear one another's burdens and sorrows. In doing this, people help facilitate God's healing and growth so individuals can increasingly become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ – create devoted and involved disciples.

The Rising Star Counseling Staff considers it a privilege to provide pastoral counseling and to assess care needs as requested by the community. If assistance is needed beyond the scope of pastoral counseling, referrals are provided to professional Christian counselors.
