DaVita's Kidney Awareness Run/Walk at Stapleton Central Park, Saturday October 2nd 2010. More than 31 million Americans have kidney disease. The two leading causes are diabetes and high blood pressure. African Americans, Hispanics, seniors, and those with a family history of kidney disease are also at increased risk. It's a 5K (about 3 miles) family event with face painting, bounce house, snacks and beverages and kidney expo. Advance on-line registration is free for the event, and a no-cost kidney disease screening is offered on site by The Kidney TRUST, the beneficiary of any funds raised.
